Follow-up sales email template
Sending a follow-up sales email after no response sample
Here is one of the most effective emails for getting silent prospects to respond after they have received the proposal and have gone quiet.
I use this when we have passed the deadline of when the prospect and I agreed to get final approval or to move forward, and my calls and voicemails aren’t returned.
Follow-up sales email template:
Subject: Red, Yellow, or Green Light
Hi NAME:
Wanted to ask if we have a red, yellow, or green light regarding ____________?
Why it works…
It works because it gives the prospect an easy way to let you know where things stand.
If the deal died, you get a RED light response. It is what it is. Don’t cry about it. At least you now know. Sure, take a shot at reviving it, but you can accurately update your forecast and focus energy on other deals.
You never want a lost deal to turn into two, three, four, or more lost deals by not having your head in the game and still thinking about the one that got away.
Yes, learn from it, but move on.
If something happens to delay the deal, but there is still interest, they will say YELLOW and often give you a little insight as to what the hold-up is. Again, you can accurately update your pipeline forecast and use what they said to see if there is something you can do to go from yellow to green.
And if it’s a go, you will see a GREEN light response, often with an apology that they have just been swamped, but they will get the deal signed and back to you soon.
Give it a try, and let me know what happens.
